ENROLLMENT PROCESS


Please email or visit our office for more information on intake or recertification appointments

You must be currently enrolled at Pierce College in at least one class. You must complete a FAFSA application for Financial Aid, the online Pierce College orientation (be sure to click the "new student" option).

You will need to submit to the Case Manager, Marisol Lozano at lozanom3@piercecollege.edu the following documents. You can also bring them into the office during normal business hours;

  • CalWORKs Intake Document- Intake Form, Student Agreement/Consent to Release Information Form, and GAIN Language Designation Form
  • From the DPSS website:
    • A Verification of Benefits dated within 2 weeks of your intake appointment. You can find your VOB here: benefitscal.com
  • From the GAIN office:
    • GN 6006 form (GAIN referral) if you were referred.
  • Your driver's license or California ID
  • A check stub if you are employed

To complete the enrollment process, you will attend a Pierce College CalWORKs Orientation/Intake appointment with our case manager (about 1 hour) and a CalWORKs Academic Counseling appointment (about 1 hour) in which a Student Education Plan will be created and your semester counseling form will be completed.

Please email our Case Manager to receive the CalWORKs Intake Document, complete it and return as a PDF or WORD document along with your Verification of Benefits, GN (if applicable) to the case manager at least 24 hours before your orientation/intake appointment. You can also visit the office to process your documents.
